Conference tour (French, English, German, Dutch)
The Centre des monuments nationaux offers a programme of activities for all publics (tourists, associations, young people, etc.), encompassing most of the heritage of Cluny: the abbey, the Museum of Art and Archaeology and the mediaeval town.
You can also book a guide who will offer you various possibilities for discovering Cluny.
A written confirmation is requested for a firm booking.
Educational activities
The educational department of the Centre des monuments nationaux proposes the discovery of the abbey, the Museum of Art and Archaeology and the mediaeval town.
Tours and manual workshops are organised on various themes. The workshops are always accompanied by a half-hour discovery tour of Cluny. They are held over a half day or a full day, or for periods ranging from 2 to 5 days, in the form of heritage-classes. These can be adapted to school programmes after discussion with the teacher.
Examples of themes proposed:
- Mediaeval town: making of a town map
- Calligraphy: discovery of illumination and the art of writing
- Reading sculpture: capitals and mediaeval images
- Mediaeval painting: the fresco technique
